The weather couldn’t have been better for our sponsored walk on Friday 19th May. With KS2 managing a 5 mile walk along the canal, and KS1 more like 2 miles, it all went ahead without a hitch. Thank you to Mrs Coleman for organising it and for all the parent helpers.
The children were encourage to come to school dressed in odd clothes today and pay £1 for comic relief. There were lots of odd sock, shoes, strange clothes, wig and even some Christmas jumpers. Willow did her bit too and came in wearing her blue jumper, hat and sunglasses. A few days before, two year 5 girls cycled 22 miles including cycling up Roundway Hill without stopping, raising £100. Adding that to the money collected on dressing up day. The school has raised £221.
A representative from Melksham Foodbank was overwhelmed by the generosity of our donations this morning when she came to collect them. She explained that their stocks were running dangerously low so our contributions had come at just the right time. Thank you to all those who contributed. Click here to see our certificate.
A very well done to the 4 children in Chestnut Class who asked to organise a cake sale to raise money to help Syrian children. The event on Friday 14th October raised £181.87 which will be donated to Unicef to suppport their work.
Very big thanks to all the parents who sent in cakes and also to Haydens Bakery who donated a large number of cakes to the event.
