Next week, our year 6 pupils will sit their SATs between Monday and Thursday. Throughout the year, our teachers have been helping them to prepare for their SATs by developing their literacy and numeracy skills.
Although the tests will be used to determine the current learning level of each pupil, we want to reassure both parents and pupils that low scores are nothing to worry about.
We understand that tests can cause children to feel under pressure and become anxious, but we are making every effort to help them relax, feel at ease, and understand that the exams will not define them or their time at school.
Listed below are the dates and topics of the tests, as well as their duration:
Monday 13th May
- SPaG Test: Grammar/Punctuation — 45 Minutes
- SPaG Test: Spelling — 20 Minutes
Tuesday 14th May
- Reading Test — 60 Minutes
Wednesday 15th May
- Maths Paper 1: Arithmetic — 30 Minutes
- Maths Paper 2: Reasoning — 40 Minutes
Thursday 16th May
- Maths Paper 3: Reasoning — 40 Minutes
If you have any questions about the exams, or any concerns that you would like to discuss with us, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We wish all of our pupils the best of luck in their tests, and we are sure they will get the results that their hard work deserves.
