We are delighted to announce that Seend School has appointed a new headteacher, Candida Hutchinson.
Mrs Hutchinson is currently Assistant Primary Director of The White Horse Federation, where she has been in the role this academic year. Previous to this, she has had 2 successful headships in Swindon and Reading. After a transition period, Mrs Hutchinson will join Seend C of E Primary School in September 2020.
She will be replacing Mrs Jackie Chalk, who is retiring from headship after 10 years at Seend C of E Primary School. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Chalk for her hard work and exceptional commitment to the role, and we wish her all the best in her retirement.
Candida will be working closely with Miss Holly Chivers who will remain as senior teacher at Seend. Holly has worked alongside Mrs Chalk since September 2019 and has been another welcomed key contact for families within the school. Her support is invaluable.
Mrs Hutchinson, like Mrs Chalk, will also oversee leadership at St George’s School and will balance her time according to the needs of both schools.
Simon Cowley, The White Horse Federation’s regional director for Wiltshire, said: “I am delighted to introduce Candida as the new headteacher of Seend C of E Primary School. During her time at The Croft Primary, another of the federation’s schools, Candida showed exceptional leadership skills opening up a brand-new school and being graded outstanding by Ofsted during the first 18 months of her headship.”
“I am looking forward to working with Candida and supporting her and the staff at Seend C of E Primary School as we build upon the school’s progress made under Mrs Chalk.”
This is an uncertain time for us all and no one is more keen than Candida to get started on her role and be able to meet the school community when safe to do so.
Everyone at Seend C of E Primary School can’t wait to meet her too. In the meantime, why not watch this introductory video to hear Candida herself!
